Amazon: Winsome Wood Cora Round Bar Height Pub Table With Faux Marble Top Black Base: by amazon.com

The marble laminate top adds to the timeless look to the table and black metal accent based gives it a sophisticated look. If you are using these outdoors (as we are) and a storm comes up, you will want to either take these inside or temporarily disassemble. I will try to update this review if we figure out a good solution. They are sturdy enough for rowdy friends and are great to sit at or stand around. The price was very reasonable and the tables arrived quickly and in great condition. I am a bit concerned about the thickness of the laminate on the table. This table is stylish and durable and the marble laminate top adds a timeless look while the black metal accented base provides sophistication. I would describe as clear coat scratches/clear as day in sunlight, hopefully they show well enough in photo). Will probably have to use epoxy underneath where the table top connects into table base. There is no set screw or any other fastener to secure the top to the pedestal. If the pole screwed into the base instead of just resting inside of it maybe that would have helped? We thought we were missing washers for the screws at first but then realized that they were stuck together. I haven’t been cutting on it or have tried to slightly scrape it but it doesn’t scream high quality.

I was done with my project before the kids naps were over! I bought it to cover a piece of melamine/wood shelf to create a marble effect table top. The application was definitely not “bubble free”, we had to remove it a couple times before we figured out the best way to attach it. Since the backing paper is removed when attaching, it does not interfere with the use of the product. Since computer screens have chromatic aberration we can not guarantee that the color of our products will be exactly the same with the photographs.

What Is Granite? Definition & Colors From Study.Com | Duration 5 Minutes 27 Seconds I watched video’s on how to install it and that really helped. Because the adhesive is so strong, and the film so thick, its difficult to apply and peel, and reapply in the event of an air bubble. The paper arrived in a bubblewrap package and is very think and shiny like vinyl, not like contact paper. It doesn’t stick very well to wood, but it sticks great to melamine/finished surfaces. There are still bubbles around the edges, as it is difficult to fold over sharp edges. There are still some tiny bubbles but they are very hard to notice. Would be great if it came with some application instructions. And if you mess up and need to move it it peels up really easy and leaves no residue.

Is A Stone Sink Right For Your Kitchen? by hgtv.com

Stone is becoming a more popular option for those tired of the standard stainless-steel sink. The same characteristics of strength and beauty that make stone a best-selling countertop material also make it a natural for sinks. Jack, who’s been selling what he terms “functional art” for more than 10 years, says that people want utilitarian objects to be beautiful, and stone is a good way to have both form and function. The other option is a boxy sink fabricated from granite or other slabs — the best choice if you want to match your chosen countertop. He strongly recommends that the sink cabinet be reinforced to hold the extra weight, which can total more than 300 pounds. It’s the densest of the stones used for sinks; it won’t stain or etch, and it’s heat-resistant. Check with your granite fabricator to make sure he or she has experience with making granite sinks. Etching on marble with a honed finish won’t be noticeable and can be smoothed with a green scrubber pad. It’s more porous than the other stones mentioned here, so sealing is a must. It’s long been used for floors and even buildings, and its warm tones will add to your kitchen. You’ll need to reseal your sink periodically; how often depends on the density of the stone.

How To Install Kitchen Tile Kitchen Floor Tile Install Video | Duration 2 Minutes 31 Seconds Already a classic countertop, backsplash and flooring mainstay, stone is now morphing into the most utilitarian tool in the kitchen — the sink. The front of a farmhouse sink can be left in its rough, natural state or it can be polished and even carved. It’s called soapstone because it feels soft to the touch, but don’t let that fool you. It does require oiling to maintain an even, dark charcoal color, but that’s the only thing you have to worry about. You can buy a granite sink carved from one piece of stone or, if your motivation is to match your beautiful new granite countertop, have one made from the same material. Acidic foods, like lemon juice, will etch marble, but this shine-dulling effect is much more noticeable if the marble has a polished finish. Sealing, he says, simply makes cleaning your sink much easier.

Pros and Cons Of Marble Countertops by housebeautiful.com

When this happens, it’s difficult to reverse, so professionally sealing the surface upon installation is essential to help prevent damage. Honing your marble — a process that results in a matte, less polished effect – might make etching less noticeable, but won’t stop it from happening, unfortunately. For this reason, avoid leaning up against your marble island wearing a belt or long metal necklaces. If you don’t mind the extra work, they are a beautiful addition. Unfortunately, much of the marble you’re seeing all over the internet might not be the affordable stuff. If you’re baking in the middle of a heat wave, you can rely on marble countertops to stay as icy as central air. It’s not all bad, but when it comes to making an investment, we’re all about transparency (ha, rock jokes). We could get into the geology of this, but the takeaway is that marble is vulnerable to staining agents (like wine, juice and oil) that seep deep into the rock. It’s cost-effective, depending on the type of marble you buy. Marble is heat-resistant — which is great — but you still need to be careful. The stone is also heat-resistant, making it a good option if your kitchen sees a lot of bake-offs.

Waterfall Countertops What To Consider Before Buying by marble.com

While pricey, waterfall style countertops introduce a clean elegance into any space, and often provide a nice common area for guests or family members to share a meal or a conversation. And the most important basic out of the gate is to understand it’s not technically a waterfall countertop if the horizontal and vertical sections are not joined by a 45 degree angle. After all, stubbing your toe on your waterfall countertop every time you go for a late night snack will certainly make you regret the decision. For instance, if your home has more of a quaint, rustic vibe to it, waterfall countertops will stick out to the point of annoyance while also breaking up the visual flow of the room. This will highlight the veining of the stone, which will impart more of an artistic quality and look to your kitchen island. As you’ll see once we get to the price section below, going big with the full-on waterfall countertop island can be a pricey endeavor. For one you can simply utilize it at the end of a cabinet run, creating the feel of a contained storage space that is nestled within whatever countertop material you decide to go with. Not to mention, a proper waterfall countertop should technically be made of marble or granite as part of the reason for its name is due to the effect the stone’s veining creates down the vertical pieces. It’s your house after all, and the goal of sprucing it up is to improve your overall experience of being home. Of course, we all have real world responsibilities and bankrupting yourself for a nice looking kitchen seems silly. So if you’re feeling the waterfall countertop concept, the best thing to do is go for it. In the end, you’ll be happy with the final result, and that’s ultimately what home improvement is all about. Nevertheless, it’s important to understand some basics when weighing the decision to go with waterfall countertops in your home. As for the rest of the considerations to take into mind, we’ll begin with assessing your space. < br>You also want to make sure you’re not sacrificing your walking space to add a little bit of class and elegance to your kitchen. While waterfall countertops have grown in popularity over the years, there are some fairly hard rules that apply when implementing them. However, if you’re going for either a contemporary or transitional look, waterfall countertops are almost necessary. Not to mention, waterfall countertops made out of marble or other stone options can produce truly stunning looks due to how you have both horizontal and vertical applications of the stone. Fortunately, if you want that clean look of the waterfall countertop without the massive expense, there’s a couple options. Roughly speaking, if you spring for the sharp elegance of marble or granite, you’re going to easily spend a few grand or more. If you’re certain a marble or granite waterfall countertop is exactly the set piece that will make your kitchen a place of joy and comfort then it’s hard to let money get in the way of that. But at the same time, never treating yourself to something that would improve or upgrade your home life is a surefire way to live in a house that never truly feels like your own.
