More Like Home – Day 23 Height For Bar Stool

I decided to finally get around to building the bar stool for my work bench. You just have to check your boards to make sure they are straight before purchasing. Ive seen that you’ve done lots of other types of tables but wondered if you have a plan/dimensions etc for a table to go with the bar stools? I sincerely regret not spending more time with my dad and soaking up his 30 years of construction experience. My dad has taken time to show me some helpful tricks and tips, and has given me the freedom to use all of his wood and power tools. It took me 5 hours to put together, with an additional 2 hours of sanding and staining. You would just need to add 23″ to all the length measurements, so the front/back boards would be 53″ long and the top boards would be 62″ long. Looking forward to many summer days and nights on our new” patio. There’s no way to upload photos to this post, but you’re always welcome to share on our facebook page!

As family dinners at the dining room table continue to dissipate and the homes we live in shrink in size, bar stools have become a common household item.

Before we get to our picks, here are some aspects of bar stools to keep in mind. To figure out the proper height of your stool, measure your bar height and subtract 10 inches from that number. The general thinking is you should aim for 28 inches from the middle of one stool to the middle of another. Also, keep in mind that if your bar has brackets under it, you may not be able to fit as many stools. Here it comes down to the question of do you want more comfortable seating with wider seats, or do you want room for more stools? Some things to keep in mind are stool backs, footrests, round or square seats, and the material of the stool. Also, it’s a common misperception that heavier stools are sturdiest. Instead of checking out the weight of the stools, take a look at the material of them, which will give you a better idea of how durable and heavy they are. The best bar stools will meet a handful of all of these factors, be comfortable, and appeal to your style preferences. The stool has a sturdy solid wood construction, and since it’s made out of natural hardwood, it can support more weight than you would guess. It comes in a few different wood finishes, so it’s unlikely to clash with most bar setups, and at 29 inches, it’s the perfect bar height. It’s also a fairly narrow shaped stool, so it’s likely you can fit in an extra one or maybe two if quantity is a top priority for you. Because of its simplicity, this bar stool is a fine option if you already have a rather ‘loud’ countertop and don’t want to worry about clashing colors. If you want a bar stool that has all the extras, this is it. Add to that sturdy footrests, which make it comfortable to sit on the stool for an extended period of time. A true standout feature is its four leg extensions that allow you to adjust the stool height from counter height (24 inches) to bar height (29 inches) as needed. Another reviewer noted that the seat width is on the smaller end at 16 inches wide, so it may not be as comfortable for larger guests. You may need a bar stool, or a few, for an actual mixology and entertaining countertop you have in your home, or maybe you just need some by your countertop so you can avoid having a dining room table and save that precious space in your apartment.
